This 19-Year-Old Teenager has Rp. 80 Billion in Money Thanks to Bitcoin
Initially, Erik, who was raised in a wealthy family in Idaho, United States, was given a prize of USD 1,000 from his grandmother when he was 12 years old. All of the money he bought was Bitcoin which at that time was not too well known.
Along with the skyrocketing value of Bitcoin, up to tens of thousands of dollars, Erik is also rich thanks to these investments and other business activities involving Bitcoin. Although lately the value of Bitcoin has plummeted, Erik still believes that a digital currency such as Bitcoin or Ethereum is still a good investment.
"I still believe in cryptocurrency, there will always be an increase and decrease," he said as quoted from Business Insider.
Choosing to pursue the world of Bitcoin, Finman also decided not to go to college. Because he won bets with his parents, that he may not go to college if he could become a millionaire at the age of 18 years.
"If it's smart about cryptocurrency in the next 10 years, people can build their wealth better than before," he believed.
"The area is still relatively small, the new market capitalization reaches half a trillion dollars. Indeed, the amount is very large, but small compared to other assets. So if you don't become a millionaire in the next 10 years, that is your fault," he advised.
"Your biggest mistake is to get out of the market today and sell Bitcoin just because of a setback," he said again.
It is indeed noteworthy that investment in Bitcoin is at high risk. Beginning in January 2018, 1 BTC has a value of almost USD 15,000 (Rp. 201 million). Then, at the end of the month, the value of one of the biggest cryptocurries had fallen to around USD 8,810 (IDR 118 million).
